Dear NAMCOL Graduates,

The 2024 National Graduate Survey coordinated by the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE) in collaboration with the Namibian College of Open Learning (NAMCOL), University of Science and Technology (NUST), University of Namibia (UNAM), International University of Management (IUM), and Institute for Open Learning (IOL) is a crucial initiative aimed at assessing the employment and economic status of graduates from these institutions. By gathering data on NAMCOL, NUST, UNAM, IUM, and IOL graduates from the years 2019, 2020 and 2021 (NQF Levels 5 and above), the survey aims to evaluate the quality and effectiveness of higher education in Namibia.

Therefore, as the Acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of NAMCOL, I request your participation in this survey, designed to gather insights from our esteemed graduates who completed their studies in 2019, 2020, and 2021.

This survey aims to understand your post-graduation journey, as to whether you have secured employment, or whether you are still looking for one. Additionally, we are keen to gauge the effectiveness of our study programmes in preparing you for the workforce, and how you have applied the knowledge and skills acquired during your studies.

The core objectives of this graduate survey are threefold:

(i) Improve our study programmes: By understanding your experiences and perspectives, we can identify areas for improvement and tailor our curricula to better equip future graduates with the necessary competencies for success in their respective fields.

(ii) Optimise our services and provisions: Your feedback will guide us in refining our support systems, resources, and services to ensure a holistic and enriching educational experience for current and prospective students.

(iii) Reflect on the employment situation of our graduates: Gaining insights into the employment situation of our graduates will enable us to collaborate more effectively with industry partners, foster relevant skill development, and contribute to the overall growth of our nation’s workforce.

Kindly take the time to complete this survey, as your insights will play a pivotal role in our continuous pursuit of excellence. Together, we can create a comprehensive educational experience that empowers individuals for positive change within our community and beyond. Kindly note that your information will be treated with strict confidentiality. The results will be published without identifying individual respondents.

The results of this survey will be published in March 2025 on the NAMCOL website.At your request, we will email you a soft copy of the report with the main survey results. The 2021 National Survey is attached for information
