The Namibian College of Open Learning (NAMCOL) and International University of Management (IUM) formally signed a Memorandum of Understanding as a declaration of shared intent to formalise strategic partnership. The agreement signifies a shared commitment to advancing education, broadening access, and collaboratively addressing Namibia’s national development needs through innovation and cooperation.
This strategic partnership between the two esteemed institutions is designed to foster mutual growth and enhance educational opportunities across several key areas, including: Collaborative research in areas of interest, Joint consultancy, grants management and funding opportunities to support innovative educational projects, Development of joint qualifications or articulation agreements to facilitate learner and student progression between NAMCOL and IUM, Co-development of curricula or bridging programmes to enhance access and quality in tertiary education, including recognition of bridging programmes, Capacity-development initiatives for staff and students and Student mobility and academic credit transfer, enriching the learning experience and creating opportunities for exposure across institutional contexts.
The agreement was formally signed by Dr Ngepathimo Kadhila on behalf of NAMCOL and Professor Osmund D. Mwandemele on behalf of IUM. This marks a pivotal step in ensuring high-quality educational resources are readily available to Namibian learners at the senior secondary level.
