The purpose of this qualification is to create a group of qualified, innovative, committed
community workers, educators equipped with professional competencies required for
effective community-based work with children and youth for Namibia and the world at large. Additionally, it aims to address the critical shortage of trained community child
and youth care workers.<\/p>

Furthermore, it aims to empower community workers to become creators of employment, producer of knowledge and produce citizens with employability skills to meet developmental challenges they face.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The main objectives of the programme are to:
\u2022 Develop questioning, appreciative and creative intellects;
\u2022 Equip community workers with appropriate knowledge, skills, attitude and
competencies that would enable them to train other community workers in Psyco-Social Support (PSS);
\u2022 Prepare community workers to effectively perform their duties in community work;
\u2022 Promote community workers and educators with equal opportunities for lifelong learning;
\u2022 Provide a firm foundation upon which entrants to the diploma can proceed to other related Bachelors\u2019 in the field.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

This programme is open to all qualifying prospective students wishing to advance their

For the students to be admitted to the DWCY, they must meet the minimum entry
requirement of NAMCOL:
\u2022 Students should have a:
\u2022 Grade 11\/12 certificate with 22 points in five subjects and an E symbol in English; or
\u2022 Certificate in Community-Based Work with Children and Youth offered by NAMCOL; or
\u2022 Any equivalent relevant Level 4 qualification.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tSEMESTER 1<\/strong>\nRegistration fee is N$2000.00, which should be paid upon registration, the remaining amount should be settled by May 31.
