The BBE programme aims to produce business leaders and entrepreneurs who are visionary, realistic, and driven to develop innovative business ventures. Moreover, the programme seeks to address the critical number of youth unemployment by imparting in them some practical business and entrepreneurial skills that are essential stimulants for self-employment and job creation. The programme further aims to result in a more robust economy as more businesses can be opened up when entrepreneurial students graduate, thus creating start-up businesses.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The specific objectives of the programme are to enable future entrepreneurs to:

\u2022 promote innovation and creativity;
\u2022 create employment;
\u2022 earn stable incomes;
\u2022 build the spirit of self-reliance;
\u2022 seek for business and entrepreneurial opportunities;
\u2022 develop global business and entrepreneurial consultative skills that make partnerships essential; and
\u2022 start a successful business<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

There are four principal audiences for the BBE programme:
\u2022 school leavers who are seeking academic qualifications for employment and self-employment;
\u2022 mid-career professionals who wish to change and enhance their current career status and become entrepreneurs;
\u2022 NAMCOL future entrepreneurs from the Certificate and Diploma in Business and Entrepreneurship; and
\u2022 Self-taught entrepreneurs who seek a formal qualification.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Admission Requirements<\/h5>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

Admission criteria ensure that future entrepreneurs who get admission to
the programme possess the ability to cope with the programme\u2019s demands.
Therefore, to be admitted into the Bachelor of Business and Entrepreneurship
programme, future entrepreneurs should have:
\u2022 NSSCO or NSSCAS Certificates with a minimum of 25 points in five subjects and at least an D-Symbol in English OR
\u2022 NAMCOL level 5 Certificate\/Diploma Level 6 in Business and Entrepreneurship. OR
\u2022 Any other relevant and equivalent qualification at NQF level 6, and\/or pre-qualifications from a recognised institution of higher learning.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The assessment of a student\u2019s performance will be based on four components:
\u2022 Continuous assessment;
\u2022 Written examination;
\u2022 Tangible business idea (Prototype); and
\u2022 Portfolio assessment for work-integrated learning (WIL).<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

A student must obtain at least a 50% mark for a specific module to pass the main
examination. The final mark consists of 50% of the main examination and 50% of
the continuous assessment. The credit level of each module will determine the time
for an examination.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
