The aim of these programmes is to support the Government\u2019s effort to attain Vision 2030 which states that Namibia should become an industrialised country by then. As employment opportunities in the formal sector shrink, the acquisition of technical and entrepreneurial skills for self-employment becomes crucial, thus development of these skills for self-employment is a vital component of these programmes.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

NAMCOL offers the following Technical, Vocational Education and Training Programmes:<\/p>

\u2022 Automotive Engineering Mechatronics<\/a>
\u2022 Plumbing and Pipefitting<\/a>
\u2022 Welding and Metal Fabrication<\/a>
\u2022 Office Administration<\/a>
\u2022 Occupational Health and Safety<\/a><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

TARGET GROUPS<\/strong>
THE PRIMARY BENEFICIARIES WILL BE:<\/strong>
\u2022 Existing NAMCOL trainees
\u2022 Unemployed youths and adults
\u2022 Artisans seeking to upgrade their skills.<\/p>

OBJECTIVES<\/strong>
THE PROGRAMME OBJECTIVES ARE TO:<\/strong>
\u2022 equip trainees with knowledge, skills and attitudes to become competent artisans;
\u2022 produce competitive artisans for the job market;
\u2022 produce entrepreneurial artisans;
\u2022 assist existing entrepreneurs with skills upgrading<\/p>

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS<\/strong>
To be admitted to this programme, a candidate must have:
At least a Grade 10 certificate with 22 points plus an E in English, Mathematics and Science. There is no age restriction.<\/p>

Prospective candidates will be subject to an objective and transparent selection process. Successful applicants will have an equal chance to apply for a study loan from NSFAF. After completion of Level 2 external assessment, all trainees that are found competent in level 2 are attached to the industry for job attachment.<\/p>

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR ADMISSION:<\/strong>
\u2022 Namibian Identity document (ID, birth certificate or passport);
\u2022 Certified copies of highest qualification
\u2022 People from marginalised and diasadvantaged groups are encouraged to apply
\u2022 Candidates with pre-vocational subjects at secondary schoolshave an added advantage
\u2022 Proof of income of parents\/guardians for loan application<\/p>

TRAINEE SUPPORT<\/strong>
Trainees are required to attend daily face-to-face classes. For new intakes an orientation workshop is organised at the beginning of each
term. At this workshop trainees register, receive study materials and are introduced to their study environment.<\/p>

ASSESSMENT<\/b>
Trainees are assessed internally and externally through the practical and theoretical activities. External assesment is regulated by Namibia Training Authority (NTA).<\/p>

JOB ATTACHMENT
<\/b>Trainees are required to go for job attachments after successful completion of level 2. This is compulsory to every trainee at this level.<\/p>
