Windhoek, 24 October 2025

The Namibian College of Open Learning (NAMCOL) and Meerkat Learning have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Friday 24 October 2025 aimed at strengthening foundational learning in Namibia.

The MoU establishes the framework for collaboration between the two institutions to develop and offer a three-month short course dedicated to certifying Literacy and Numeracy Learning Support Facilitators. This initiative is designed to equip educators with the skills, methodologies, and tools necessary to effectively support learners who experience challenges in basic literacy and numeracy.

Through this partnership, NAMCOL continues to position itself as a leader in open, distance, and blended learning, driving national efforts toward inclusive education and sustainable skills development.

Present at the signing ceremony were Dr. Ngepathimo Kadhila, NAMCOL’s CEO; Ms. Angelica Amporo, Director: Meerkat Learning; Mr. Phillip Kambonde, Manager: Enterprise Development (NAMCOL); Ms. Justina Kavale, Manager: Tertiary Programmes Development (NAMCOL); Ms. Star Katjariwa and Mr. Njandee Mbarandongo from Meerkat Learning.
