Advancing Tertiary Education: The Shift to Moodle-Based Content Development at NAMCOL

The Tertiary Programmes (TP) Unit is currently conducting training for Online Course Team Developers for seven tertiary programmes. Ongoing technological transformation, together with financial constraints, has necessitated a shift towards the development and delivery of online course content. This transition has also created a need to equip Course Team members with the necessary skills to develop and manage content on the Moodle platform.

To address this need, a series of training sessions has been scheduled as follows:

  • A two-day training programme for Online Content Writers is taking place from 12–13 May 2026;
  • A one-day training programme for Instructional Designers is scheduled for 19 May 2026; and
  • A one-day training programme for Content Editors is scheduled for 21 May 2026.

The training sessions are being conducted in a blended mode to accommodate participants who are unable to attend in person. All training sessions will be conducted at NAMCOL in the Learner Support Training Room. Several professors, doctors, and other experts from different fields are attending the training sessions, including Prof. Kassian Amesho, Prof. Nangolo Fillemon, and Prof. Lillian Pazvakawambwa
